Make IT Monday

Above is my take on PTI's Make It Monday. I recently came across the bottom card that I made a while ago. I decided it might be fun to incorporate the impression technique with a tent topper.
I think this may even be my Thanksgiving later this year. I haven't decided on the bow. I may change that to a knot for a more rustic feel.

Make It Monday Challenge: Glitter

This challenge came at a perfect time as I needed to make a one year old birthday card for this Friday. I took my inspiration from Jessica Witty. When short on time, I found it's easier to "tweak" someone's design than to start from scratch.
Details:
Stamps: Everyday Button Bits, Big Birthday Wishes
Cardstock: SU pink & yellow, vellum
Ink: Staz On Royal Purple
Dies & Impression Plates: PTI Banner, Numbers
Other: PTI Spring Button Mix, Thread, SU glitter, MS punch

PTI Day 8 Challenge Accepted

Man, all this celebration is about to wear me out. I don't know how the PTI Design Team does it. I passed on a couple of the challenges as just did not have the time the past couple of days.

I got inspired today and jumped in. I was going to make a birthday card for an one year old that I need later this month and it did not happen. I have to say this one is a bit out of norm for me...bigger card size, big embellishment..chipboard even! I like the Spring feel to it.

Details~
Cardstock: White, PTI Raspberry Fizz, PTI Bitty Dot Basics Pattern Paper, PTI Spring Moss

Stamps: Signature Greetings, All About You Additions

Ink: Black, SU Pink Passion Craft Ink

Other: Glitter, Chipboard, PTI Rick Rack Die, Hi punch

PTI Color Challenge Entry #2

Here is my second card for the PTI Color Challenge. The photo doesn't show it well, but the Raspberry Fizz hand with gold heart is popped up. I like how this one turned out, but die cutting those hands was time consuming. They just don't want to pop out quickly. I have found that my QucikKutz QuickStick works well getting out card stock stuck in the die.

Stamps: Love Lives Here
Die: Love Lives Here Collection
Cardstock: White, Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist
Ink: SU Going Gray
Other: Pop-Up Dots, CM Corner Round Punch

PTI Color Challenge Entry #1

Well, another challenge has been issued celebrating PTI's 4th anniversary. This time its all about color. Another great prize too. (Click here for details) Here is my first entry. Funny how things come together. My uncle requested 12 thank you cards from me just the other day. With all the challenges, I am getting them done faster than I thought I would for him.
On a side note, I just wanted to say I was thrilled to be the first Q&A caller on PTI Radio. Nichole had great answers. The funniest part of it was I was listening while walking the dog in the neighborhood. AS I stated on PTI FB wall, I don't think too many neighbors heard my surprise shriek when I heard my voice.
Details~
Stamps: PTI Love Lives Here
Die & Plates: PTI Love Live Here and PTI Linen Impression Plate
Cardstock: SU Sahara Sand, SU Wild Wasabi (sorry closest match I had in stock) PTI Kraft, PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI Ocean Tides, PTI Pure Poppy
Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Vintage Ink System

Mondays Just Got a Whole Lot Better

Well, PTI has made the start to every week a whole lot better with their Make-It Mondays. A You-Tube video, a challenge, shared fun and a prize....AWESOME. Nichole is kicking it off this week with a special Anniversary prize...drum roll please....$250 gift certificate.

Here is what I came up with for the PTI MIM challenge. I took inspiration from PTI's Day 1 winner Amy Everson. I loved her format and really needed to get my CHA set inked. The photo doesn't capture all the impressions, but I did use the Woodgrain and Linen & Canvas.

Paper: Kraft, Melon Berry, Terracotta Tile

Valentine Treats

Here are some Valentines I have been working on. The first couple of photos are my first attempt making my own soap molds. I decided to try Hershey's Nuggets. My DH saw them and inquired about my obsession with chocolate scented soap. Hellooo...its zero calories but fulfills that sensory of chocolate scent..yummy:) I can't take credit for the box, but decided to try out PTI's anniversary tags (download is available here).

The next photo is what I came up for my daughter's school Valentines. I can't take credit for this soap...Wal-Mart after Christmas sale. She picked out what she wanted and I pulled it together. All we have left is her completing the Hello Kitty Valentines and tape them on the other side.

PTI Anniversary Contest Post

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 4th anniversary. As usual, they know how to celebrate and are offering a fantastic prize for today's contest. Go to Nichole's blog for the details.

Here is my favorite PTI project from 2010. My original post is here. It is true that I finally caved and bought Friendship Jar stamp set due to this project. I loved the spider jar card that Nichole had featured on her post and thought the idea would look great in my tray. I am actually getting ready to make another tray with the Love Lives Here stamp set. We are military so the set's sentiments really resonate with our "home" .
Happy 4th Anniversary PTI!

Cupcake Birthday Project

Well, it takes a PTI anniversary, rainy day and some time to get me to update my blog. Here was my January project, cupcake birthday presents. I was inspired from Lauren Meader's post from a while back. I made three of these and have a couple more to make. 2011 is the year of my cupcake birthday gifts:) My biggest accomplishment is making the cupcake soap. The soap tutorial made the frosting part look easy. Let's just say that one takes some practice. Overall, I think they came out great and the ladies loved them.
Details:

  • Stamps: PTI Cupcake Collection
  • Cardstock/Paper: PTI
  • Ink: VersaMark, SU Chocolate Chip, SU Old Olive
  • Other: PTI Ribbon, PTI buttons, Liquid Applique, Korr canning jar, beads
  • Soapmaking: BrambleBerry White M&P, Soapylove fragance, Brown Oxide, Soapylove sprinkles

Happy New Year..Looking Back on December Projects

Happy New Year! Well, December 2010 certainly flew by! I thought I'd FINALLY post a couple of my December gift projects. Better late than never right?!

Project notes...I used PTI's Calendar Basic set to make calendars for my kid's teachers. I decorated a frame with some school themed chipboard for the calendar display for my son's teacher. I was inspired my Heather's (pine) original Calendar Basics post.
I have to admit I enjoyed my crafting Christmas so much, I already am planning my projects for this next December. Right now, I am working on birthday gifts...three this month for friends. As luck would have it, it is PTI's big birthday celebration month. I bought the Cupcake Collection stamp set earlier this month to start on my TT Pack-A-Picnic Cupcake boxes. I was thrilled when Nichole (yeah) announced its dies were being released this month. I am excited about these projects. The boxes are done...now for the cupcake in the jar and cupcake soap! I am planning to post pictures for the PTI release...come back and check them out.
