PTI & Sunday School Craft

It was Saturday afternoon and I had to come up with a craft for Sunday School. Lion and lamb..what can I do with that? Ahh...PTI Very Punny Valentine to the rescue. Here is what I came up with and the kids even joined in to help "run" the Big Shot.

Ivory Snowball Mass Production

Here is an update on the Ivory Snowball soaps. Sara helped finish her tags. I think they came out quite cute. I have all 40 soaps done, but need to complete Sara's baskets. Waiting on white paper....arrgh. How does one run out at Christmas time?! Oops!

Homemade Soap

Just a quick post.

I have been busy working on multiple projects these days. Here are two that the kids and I accomplished over break so far. The soap loaf is my first attempt at loaves. It is scented with Bramble Berry Hot Cocoa (YUMMY). I love how my marshmallows melted and gave it a frothy look.
I made Ivory Snowballs with the kids for their classmates this year. I found this idea in Family Fun, which always has great kid crafts!

PTI Bog Hop November 25

Nothing like a Blog Hop to inspire you to blog again after an absence. Anyway, I literally threw this one together although it had been in my thoughts for awhile. I am planning on making soap snowballs with my kids for their classmates. Seeing as snow is rare here in the Sandhills of NC, I thought fake snow would be a fun idea. So yes, please use your imagination to fill the basket with the snowball. We are going to actually start on those tomorrow. I will update this post once we get the entire package complete.

You can't see behind my tag, but there is a SU felt snowflake on the basket to give it some texture. I used some sparkle on the tag with glitter and shimmer paper. I did use PTI Tag Sale 2, but I shortened it to keep it in portion with the basket.

Witch's Brew

Another Halloween treat I made for my good friend, Kelly. Unfortunately, it was 80 degrees here today so my fingers melted a bit in the van before meeting her for lunch. I attempted the two tone chocolate molding and it was fun. I am planning on a similiar treat for kids teachers. I am making them Orange Cappuccino instead of candy corn mix.

More Halloween...loving it this year

Here are two of my Halloween cards. These are my favorites from the bunch. I got inspiration from the PTI gals. Here are the links to give them credit, first Nichole's and Betsy.

I used non-PTI stamp (gasp) for the inside (love it), it says:

Bag of Peanut Butter Cups...$2.99
Black Pointy Hat....$8.99
5 Chocolate Bars...$2.79
Straw Broom....$7.99
Green face Paint...$3.99

One day a year you are supposed to eat chocolate and be a witch...Priceless.

I had fun putting these together. It actually started with the Wilton's pretzel mold. I thought they would be easy since it's a bone that = one color. I can't wait to start Boo"ing" my friends and neighbors. Besides "bones" they are getting the PayDay Halloween Mix (candy corn and peanuts).

Past Project Mentioned in PTI Blog Hop

I thought I'd post a past project that I mentioned in this month's PTI Blog Hop Contest. Nichole's question was, "What memorable project did you have the most FUN creating and why?" My answer was "Okay, I can only limit it down to 2 projects. The first one I actually "cased" from Nichole..you can see her original here...http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture ... other.html My Mom loved the bracelet I made and it was actually my first one I ever made myself. The second project was my recent Halloween ATC Tray I featured in my Blog Hop. I love Halloween, so it is a perfect addition to my Halloween decor!" Above are the photos of the first project I mentioned in my answer. I loved putting it together and my Mom really appreciated this gift.

Finished Project and Why I Had to Have PTI Friendship Jar

Edit: How funny. I decided to get my act together and update my blog. I just happen to check PTI's Blog Hop and I have a post that qualifies. The short story is I had seen the 7 Gypsies trays in a store and thought they were neat. It ended there. So, here I come across this website and I got inspired and did it! I won't have tried the tray without this inspiration. So here is my PTI Blog Hop entry.

So..you get inspired from a website, than you search for the products to create your own. This is how my Halloween ATC came into existence. I saw this post and loved it! I found the 7Gypsies Printers Tray and than it was a matter of theme. I love Martha Stewart's Vampire Halloween Collection this year, so I started with that paper stack. I found most of my embellishments at Micheals. I had to incorporate the bug paper and after seeing Nichole's post for Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, I caved and bought Friendship Jar and Fall Fillers! I love both sets!

Quick notes about the project. My kids love the hologram sticker lady. She turns into a skeleton. The moon in the upper left corner has MS Glow in the Dark glitter on it. I colored on my rhinestones with Black Copic Marker..love that aspect of them...makes the most out of your rhinestones.

Yes..it has been way too long

The summer flew by and its almost October. Yikes. I am the worse blogger.
Quick update.

The kids and I spent the summer on the road....literally...3000+ miles. We spent a week with my Ps at Fort Fisher. We drove to Illinois, hit CHA at Chicago (so fun), visited with my 94 yr old Grandma and drove over to Ohio on the way back to check out Columbus (new home next summer). We had a great time. Ironic moment..once we got home while driving on post on a sunny clear day....a tree branch fell on my hood!

CHA was a blast. I spent most of my time hanging at the PTI booth. The PTI gals did an outstanding job. Their booth was the best of the show in my opinion.

I have been busy working on fall projects. I have Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas under way in some shape and form.
I will post some pictures of the project I just finished today in my second post...want to look like a better blogger:)

Yes, can you believe another one?

I finally finished my SIL birthday present and got it in the mail. I went with the chocolate themed From the Desk Of..but with no calories. I am in love with Bramble & Berry's dark rich Chocolate fragrance!! I made homemade Chocolate Cake bath salts. When my kids saw the mixture in the bowl they thought I was making chocolate cake! It smelled awesome! I also put together the chocolate potpourri sachets and chocolate soap bars (in box). I hope she likes the gift.

From the Desk Of Part 3 & 4..Love this template

As you can see, I am just in love with PTI's Timeless Template From the Desk Of!
The first picture is the gift I made for my Grandmother for her birthday. She turned 94 this month! What can you get someone at that point in her life? I decided since she is in assisted living and doesn't get out much, to send her some Summer. I put a few goodies (Goldfish, Lemonade chapstick, Lemonheads, etc.) together in a summer From the Desk of template.
I am off this weekend to visit a good friend I haven't seen in a couple of years. This is a little something I put together for her. I can't claim the Ju Ju Good Luck charm doll. I found it on eBay...it's part of a standing joke. I had told her at one point we needed to have a voodoo session to drive away the bad luck that has plagued her family for the past couple of years. I think the doll will be great as a part hostess/new home gift. I can claim that I made the bath salts, milk bath tea sachet and three bars of soap. I did use Lauren Meader's Take Time stamp set for my Bath salt label. For the packaging, I put two PTI TT From the Desk together and I found the cupcake box design on ScorPal.com. Of course, the cupcake box has inspired me to try making cupcake soap!

Playing Blog Catch Up

Here is what has been keeping me busy and not updating my blog. Yeah, I am a bad blogger. Anyway, the first project is inspired by Lisa Johnson. I, of course, bought her Just For You stamp set and have made two purchases from Bramble Berry. I have never made soap before and it's fun! Here is my honey oatmeal soap....and of course, PTI's Honey Bees paired with it nicely:)

Below are the teacher cards I made for my son's teacher and TA. They were inspired by Atomicbutterfly.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

How ironic that I go to check PTI's Blog Hop information and the challenge is about felt. I just used felt for the first time on the notepad for one of my teacher gifts. It is kind of difficult to see in the photo, but the red scallop circle layer is felt. I have PTI to thank for the inspiration with their great new felt product line.

I have to say I really love how it added some interest to the project. I love PTI's felt but I have not purchased any yet because we are going to be moving. You can bet once we are moved I will find a place in our new home for a stash.

Well, I completely forgot to take photos of my Mom day cards. On to the next projects, it's that time of year----end of the year teacher gifts. I am so in love with PTI's Timeless From the Desk of Template. Here are the two gifts I made for my daughter's teacher and TA. I have to finish my son's teacher and TA's gifts next. June will be busy as well, birthday gifts and my first go at soap making thanks to Lisa Johnson's inspiration. Can't wait to break in her new set, Just for You

Just a quick update on my graduation gift set. I finished the beaded pen and bookmark today. The beaded pen is polka dot with monogram but the flash from my camera gave the beads some sparkle in this photo. I hope she likes it. All I have left is some more monogrammed notepaper and gift carder holder.

I'm not sitting on my couch..I'm inking

I was able to ink up My On Couch Additions sets. I so want the My On Couch set, but it's still on my wish list. I am hoping for a gift card from my brother *hint* for PTI for my b-day next month. I found putting the Fuzzy Flock on a polka dot couch was a bit interesting. I think the solid couch would be a bit easier. I used the Glue Pad, which worked great, but I had to remove the flock from the dots!

Well, the PTI 3 year anniversary celebration is over! Wow...lots of new products and as always great inspiration. Now, I can get back to my regular daily routine..unfortunately that means I need to get caught up in my cleaning. Actually, before I do..one more project to finish. My friend, Amy, is due next week with her third baby. I wanted to make something for her. I ended up taking inspiration from Lauren, you can see her post here.

PTI Flower Embellishment Challenge

Anniversary celebrations and challenges continue over at PTI. Nichole challenged PTI "caPTIves", fans, addicts...to take inspiration from Michelle & Dawn and their famous embellies. See challenge details here.
Luckily, the mojo flowed with this one. Thank goodness, because yesterday's Origami challenge was a tough one. I have actually done this design before but with less bling. I decided to glam it up a bit with the polka dot embossed background, half pearls, layers and ribbon. I am determined to use more of my "collection" this year:)

PTI Origami Challenge

Here is my entry for Nichole's PTI Origami Challenge today. I have to say, my mojo is just about spent after this week of fun challenges and Valentines! It was hard fitting this in with a pending snow storm and everyone in a panic (as a Northerner in the South..its amusing..but understand after being here for some time now). Anyway, origami and I don't mesh to well, so I tried the Dahlia flower from SCS resources.

Valentine's are Done!

Since my DH doesn't check my blog, here is his Valentine. I found the Fiskars punch on clearance at Big Lots last fall and knew it would help make a great Valentine card. When I saw the "pucker up" sentiment in PTI's Tiny Treats...it was a no brainer:)
I originally made actetate sour cream holders for my DD with Tiny Treats tag. I even got them done early, but teacher sent home h/w assignment on Monday that kids are suppose to write their names on their Valentines for homework this week. I showed Sara Heather's cards and she said like that one but with the dog. Above is our take on Heather's version.
I didn't take a photo of my DS (gasp), but he selected Becky Oehler's design..except we changed colors and did the bunny for girls and dino for boys. Yes, you may have noticed...one thing about PTI DT that I love is you can utilize their creations and make them your own...quickly..it's all about time saving these days isn't?
